On September 13th, just over 200 of us gathered in person, with many more joining by livestream, to celebrate Kim. It meant the world to be surrounded by so many people touched by her love, kindness, and spark. Together, we know we did her proud 💐
Kimmy Sue was a ray of sun with a fiery wit—she showed us how to show up for others, celebrate life loudly, and hold on to light even in the hardest times. She taught us that kindness is power, and that joy can be its own kind of resistance.
We can’t thank our community enough for the endless love and support you’ve shown—candles lit, messages left, fresh flowers at the door, our kitchen quietly cleaned, meals cooked and shared, photos and audio memories sent, words of encouragement offered, GoFundMe contributions, and the many helping hands that pulled everything together for her celebration. Over these last five years, you’ve wrapped Kim and our family in care, and we’re forever grateful.

On Saturday, September 13th, 2025 we’ll come together to celebrate Kim—
remembering her fierce kindness, her contagious laugh, and the joy she shared with us all.
📅 Date: Saturday, September 13th
🕐 Time: 12–4:45 pm
📍 Location: Scout Lodge, Philomath (660 Clemens Mill Rd, Philomath, OR 97370)
🌻 Dress Code: Casual and bright — channel Kimmy!
💻 Livestream: Join us from wherever you are starting at 1 pm
Ways to Take Part
There are lots of ways to take part, big or small. None are required—just join in however feels right for you.
🌼 Bouquet exchange – Bring a bouquet to brighten the lodge, and take a different one home. (We’ll have a few extra vases on hand.)
🥗 Potluck – Contribute finger food or non-alcoholic drinks to share. Kindly label any common allergens (gluten, dairy, nuts).
🎤 Tributes – Share a brief story or memory of Kimmy Sue. Expect laughter, tears, and lots of love.
🖼 Photos/videos – Submit up to 3 of your favorite photos (or short video clips) of Kim for the slideshow. Upload to this Google folder by September 10.
🙋 Volunteers – Pitch in with setup, cleanup, or other small roles.
What to Expect
Feel free to come and go—it’s a long, easygoing afternoon with a few scheduled moments:
1:30 pm – Family remarks, followed by open sharing of stories, memories, and tributes (everyone welcome to share a few words).
3:00 pm – Family music and poetry, followed by more open sharing.
Note: A quiet room indoors and picnic tables outside will be available for anyone who needs a break or a quiet moment.
After the program, some may head to Squirrel’s to keep visiting—no official plans, just an option for whoever feels like spending more time together.
